Happy Independence Day to all the Americans who stop by! To everyone else, enjoy the review and thank you for being here!
Today, we are back with an oldie but goodie for a review. I read Swipe for Death in December 2024 (not that old I know) and I was hooked. It was my first Elisa D. Daniels book and started my fangirl era. Since then, I’ve been blessed with a great friendship between her and I, AND continue to read her books as quick as she can write them. If you haven’t read Swipe for Death yet, I highly recommend grabbing this one and giving it a read, you won’t be disappointed!
Swipe for Death
Ever question being happily married, amorously attached, or even satisfiedly single?? After reading Swipe for Death, you will never question it again – you will realize being content isn’t so bad after all.
James (MMC), divorced, single, in a new town with a new job since moving to be closer to his kids, decides to give the dating scene a whirl. Eros, a popular dating app, is James’ segway into the dating world. What started out as a fun adventure quickly spirals into obsession and even death.
Which date from Eros has turned out to be a killer? How far will that one person go to get what they want? Is swiping for love worth the danger of death?
Swipe for Death has a full cast of characters that are fleshed out with details that make them vulnerable, relatable and real. With James, readers can relate to his divorce and needing to be closer to his kids, his desire to date again, move on with his life, find love. The journey James goes on in the dating world is one many a reader can bond with, yet develop a fear for what could happen similar to James’ experience. These details allow the reader to immerse themselves in his world, his journey, his experiences – you aren’t just reading about James and his dating journey, you are living it right alongside him.
Daniels ability to project vivid imagery and realistic storytelling plunge you directly into James’ journey leaving no stone unturned. Swipe for Death is quick-paced with seamless transitioning, immersing you into the story so much, that time has flown by leaving you wondering where your day has gone. When secrets are revealed, love is explored, trust and betrayal exposed and relationships questioned we have to decide if risking life for love on a dating app is really worth it.
Wrapping it all up in a nice little package, Swipe for Death throws in the final twist to bring all the questions to a perfect closure leaving readers clear with what transpired – no awkward cliffhangers here!
If you are looking for a quick-read, edge of your seat kind of psychological thriller then Swipe for Death by Elisa D. Daniels should be your next read!
