The Bookworm Who Stole Christmas

~Luna Peters

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Peters delivers the ultimate small-town holiday comfort read in The Bookworm Who Stole Christmas – a cozy, heartwarming story about a self-proclaimed “Grinch” and the sunny mechanic determined to melt her icy heart.

After inheriting a quaint bookstore in Haven’s Dale from a grandmother she never knew, Maddie Coleman is determined to keep her distance from the town’s tinsel and cheer. Haunted by past trauma and a love for Halloween over holly, she’s sworn off Christmas entirely.

Enter Parker Grayson – the ever-optimistic, small-town mechanic and devoted single dad whose enthusiasm for the holidays could put Santa to shame. When he wanders into Maddie’s shop looking for the perfect book for his daughter, Amelia, he’s instantly drawn to the guarded new bookstore owner. And so begins his mission to “de-Grinch” her, one twinkle light at a time.

Peters once again proves her gift for crafting authentic, emotionally resonant characters. Maddie and Parker feel real – flawed, endearing, and utterly relatable. Their connection unfolds with warmth and sincerity, surrounded by a charming supporting cast that enhances the story rather than crowding it.

The pacing is brisk yet natural, every transition smooth and purposeful. For a novella, it carries remarkable emotional depth and world-building – proof of Peters’ storytelling finesse. The small-town ambiance sparkles, the holiday spirit radiates off the page, and yes – the spice level is perfectly balanced: cozy yet just the right amount of heat.

If you’re craving a feel-good, cinnamon-scented read that celebrates love, healing, and holiday magic, The Bookworm Who Stole Christmas absolutely deserves a spot on your festive TBR.
